In 1919 as Britain had promised to establish a jewish state in Palestine, the Haganah was founded, a Jewish paramilitary force. While the British tolerated them for some time, sometimes using them as auxiliary police, the Haganah soon began to arm itself to the teeth, mainly with weapons smuggled from Germany. In 1920 when British soldiers tried to stop the unloading of a huge load of weapons at the port of Haifa both sides clashed for the first time. The situation became more and more tense, demonstrations of pro-independence groups were violently repressed by the British military with dozens of activists getting killed. In 1922 when the British prime minister announced that there would be no jewish state the Haganah decided that enough was enough and gave out the code "Torah, Torah, Torah" meaning an all-out attack against British forces in Palestine. With the financial help of the jewish diaspora and some influential officials in Germany the Haganah had acquired an impressive amount of aircraft deployed to several improvised airstrips around the country. Haganah commanders knew that air superiority could be crucial for the outcome of the conflict and therefore decided to attack the RAF contingent with all available planes. At the dawn of 5 June 1922 an Armada of 11 Fokker D.VIIs, 4 Fokker E.Vs, 5 Albatros D.V, 2 Fokker Dr. Is and one Gotha G. V took off, heading towards British airfields. The result was desastrous, the RAF had estimated that the Haganah had "about 2-3 observation aircraft" and was taken by complete surprise. About 75% of its aircraft were destroyed on the ground, ammunition dumps and fuel storage tanks were also going up in flames. While the aerial attack was an enormous success the attempt to capture Britain's main airfield using two A7Vs and an Mk-IV ( basically the whole armored component of the Haganah) failed miserably. Both A7Vs broke down while the MK-IV was knocked out by an artilly shell.

Swiftly the combatants of the Haganah, highly motivated and supported by their fighter-bombers, captured about 50% of Palestine. But the British were quick to bring in reinforcements and soon the air-fields of the Haganah were bombed by Vickers Vimys and strafed by Bristol Fighters. The air-command decided to camouflage all aircraft and use the remaining examples for air-defence only. Although they were unable to stop the British aerial onslaught, Haganah aircraft did achieve quite some kills, cleverly ambushing the RAF's fighter bombers. On the ground the Haganah switched to Guerilla style warfare as they simply couldn't match the British armored force in conventional combat. The Brits encountered stiff resistance and reacted by indiscriminately bombing the civilian population, some hard-liners like r Arthur Harris even advocated the use of chemical weapons

In order to save their planes from the intenisve air-attacks technicians tried to develope new camo schemes. This quadrat camo was applied to at least three Fokkers two D.V and the single Gotha.
In the spring of 1923 British forces rounded up 50 jewish settlers including women and children and shot all of them. The pictures of this massacre went around the world and due to both, external and internal pressure on the British government, British troops finally retreated. In 1923 the Democratic Republic of Israel was proclaimed

In 1921 the Imperial Iranian Air Force purchased no less than 40 Fokker D. VIIs. In 1936 Iranian generals announced that the IIAF would now mass-produce an indigenous Iranian fighter called Saequeh. Equipped with canards, an ultra-light landing gear and a V-tail they claimed it would be similiar in performance to contemporary fighters like the P-36 or the Bf-109. Despite these flamboyant anouncements nothing more was ever heard of it. In his weekly radio-show "Aló Tirano" Venezuelan strongman Juan Vicente Gómez anounced that he would upgrade his hardly operational ex-Dutch Fokkers (the Dutch refused to sell him any more spares after he threatened to invade Curacao) in Iran but again another bombastic anouncement did end in talk...

Another variant the Saeqeh 2 monoplane was revealed in 1937. Iranian generals claimed that visiblity was greatly reduced and Spitfires would be incapable of shooting it down. Nothing was ever heard of it again.
