עפ"י הצעתו הטובה של קורנסון, פניתי למר טום קופר עם השאלה, והנה תגובתו. בכדי לא להסתבך עם פרשנות, אני מביא את ציטוט תשובתו במדוייק.
לילה טוב

Hi Yossi,
that artwork has meanwhile been surpassed by recent developments. In your place, I would use it as reference for camo pattern and colours, as well as position of markings only. But, neither in regards of the serial or kill markings.
When I was drawing it, my only reference were several b/w photos of IrAF Hunters, a shot of RJAF Hunter put up on a pole in Amman, Jordan, plus some unconfirmed Pakistani reports about the serial of the IrAF Hunter that was used to down two IDF/AF fighters. The later should have been "702". If I recall correctly, you can find these reports on one of Pakistani websites.
Later on I've learned that - yes, there was an original Iraqi Hunter with two kill markings, both of these from 1967. But, its serial was not 702, and kill-markings were applied in a completely different way. Of course, that plane is not to be mixed with the RJAF one. I've obtained this info only after the materials have been sent to Fana: it was too late to draw a new artwork and replace it in the magazine.
Nevertheless, there was also an IrAF Hunter with Serial 702, and it did participate in the 1973 War. But, it never wore any kill markings.
Sadly, while researching about this (and some other) topic(s), I've got myself into quite some troubles with US authorities in Iraq (I went few places they did not want me to go - of course, without their permission). Aside of that, I'm quite concerned about the safety of specific persons and some of the things I've found in Iraq.
That's why I'm not quite curious to talk about the exact look of the IrAF Hunter with two kills right now. All I can say is: the "original double-kill" Hunter was not between the airframes sent to Egypt, back in 1973.
To my luck, before being kicked out of the country, I've got enough materials (including photos of the "double-kill" Hunter in question) to publish at least an article to this topic. Surely enough, I'll do so when the time comes - together with a "corrected" artwork of the Hunter in question. I'd only like some time to pass and the matters to settle down before doing so.
That's why I hope you can wait for a little bit longer to see all the details.
Cheers,
Tom
