ההפלה השניה היתה ב-19 לא ב-29
February 13, 1981 - Squadron CO. Benny Tzinker is being alerted to intercept a Syrian MiG-25 apparently climbing to attack an IAF RF-4E Phantom on a PR mission. At about 50,000 ft. altitude, whilst Tzinker flies below the Phantom, the Syrian pilot tries to gain altitude in order to start his charge on the Phantom. Tzinker keeps distance from the scene and from about 25 miles away launches two missiles and to be sure, a third one. All three hit the MiG in a gigantic explosion: first kill ever of a MiG-25, credited to Benny Tzinker, to IAF and to F-15. This combat was kept from the public eye for a long time and the Syrians grounded their MiG-25s for about six months, not being able to elucidate the case!
July 19, 1981 - Capt. Shaul Simon dawns a MiG-25 which tried to interfere with a photographic mission of an IAF Phantom in the skies of Southern Lebanon. It was the last F-15 kill till the operation “Peace for Galilee”.
