ספינת חיל הים ביצעה ירי באוויר כאזהרה לספינת דייג לבנונית שהתקרבה מדי,הספינה של חיל הים היתה במים טריטוריאלים של ישראל.....סירת הדייג היתה במים טריטוריאלים לבנונים ולכן הקליעים שעפו באוויר "הואשמו" בחדירה למרחב האווירי הלבנוני.

Lebanese army command: Israeli war boat opens gunfire to frighten Lebanese fishing boat

The Lebanese army command issued a statement on Monday saying that an Israeli war boat located in Israel’s regional waters fired gunshots into the air at 2am to frighten a Lebanese fishing boat in Lebanon’s regional waters, adding that the gunshots penetrated Lebanese airspace.

An Azerbaijani court found two Lebanese individuals, Ali Karaki and Ali Najmeddin, on Monday guilty of plotting attacks on the Israeli and US embassies in the capital Baku, sentencing them to 15 years of jail each, a court spokesperson said.

He said they were convicted of also preparing attacks against the strategic Gabala missile-detection radar station in the north of the country.

Four Azerbaijani citizens were sentenced to 12 to 15 year prison terms.

The spokesperson also said that the group is linked to Hezbollah, the Al-Qaeda network and Iran's Revolutionary Guards, without giving further details.

The Los Angeles Times reported last May that the group had planned to set off three or four car bombs simultaneously around the Israeli embassy, which is in a business tower that houses other embassies and the offices of top foreign companies.

The newspaper quoted Israeli and Western officials as saying that the planned attack was part of broader efforts by Hezbollah and Iran to target Israeli facilities abroad.

The defense lawyers denounced the sentence as not supported by evidence and walked out of the session in protest.

"We believe that the court made its decision based on personal opinions rather than on facts and evidence," lawyer Vugar Khasiev told AFP.

"The sentence is not just and will be challenged in other judicial instances, including in the European Court of Human Rights," he said.

NOW’s correspondent in South Lebanon reported on Monday that an Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) patrol of 10 soldiers took position on its side of the Lebanese-Israeli borders facing the Odeissy and Kfar Kila areas, adding that the patrol carried out drills with live ammunition at the Shebaa Farms on Sunday night.

The IDF also conducted motorized patrols between the areas of Mtolli and Miskafaam, and inspected the barbed wire at the Fatima Gate as well as the surveillance cameras installed at the Ghajar Village.

The Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) and UNIFIL’s Spanish contingent, in turn, set two observation posts at the Fatima Gate and Kfar Kila to monitor Israeli movements. They also carried out motorized patrols on the Lebanese border starting from Shebaa through Marjayoun, Kfar Kila, Odeissy until Meiss al-Jabal.
