The two soldiers were captured by terrorists in a May 12, 2007 ambush and their remains were found buried together in a shallow grave in July of 2008. The remains of the two soldiers interred at Arlington could not be separated as belonging to either Jimenez or Fouty. This is the second burial for both soldiers, Sgt. Jimenez's first set of remains are buried at Long Island National Cemetery and Spc. Fouty's first set of remains are buried at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. According to U.S. Army Human Resources Command, personal items from both soldiers will be buried at Arlington along with the remains.
