גדוד שיעי מוקטן בפיקוד חיזבאללה החזיק בחודשים האחרונים את גזרת אל-עייש / אל-חאדר שמדרום לחלב ובנה סביב העיירות קו ביצורים וחפירות מסיבי למדי. במהלך פרק הזמן הזה ניסו א-נוסרא מספר פעמים לכבוש בחזרה את תל אל-אייש האסט' (שמצפון לעיירה בעלת השם הזהה) אך נכשלו בכל פעם. כעת שהרוסים בחצי כוח ותשומת הלב של צבא סוריה נתונה בכלל ללחימה בתדמור, א-נוסרא חידשו את מאמצים והצליחו סוף סוף לכבוש בחזרה את תל אל-אייש, החולש גם על העיירה עצמה שלמרגלות התל וגם על העיירה הסמוכה חאדר, שתיהן מעוזים לשעבר של המורדים האיסלמיסטיים עד שנפלו לידי השיעים במתקפת החורף של 2015.

ההתקפה לאור יום של א-נוסרא (ובעלי בריתו) החלה כרגיל בריכוך של SBVIED כפול על הכניסות המערביות לעיירה, הרעשה ארט' של טבעת ההגנה השיעית (באמצעות תותחים, מטל"רים, תול"רים, מק"כים ומרגמות) ולבסוף הסתערות של הפלוגה הממוכנת של א-נוסרא. בהפגזה המסיבית והפתאומית נהרג מג"ד חיזבאללה ולוחמים נוספים ובאותו רגע המערך התמוטט למעשה והלוחמים נמלטו בבהלה דרך רחובות אל-עייש ומשם מזרחה אל עבר אל-חאדר. כל הסיפור מתועד בסרטון HD מדהים מרחפן שלמרבה הצער הורד מ YOUTUBE (כן נותרו הסרטים של ההתקפה הרגלית עצמה וכן התקפת ההמשך של הפלוגה הממוכנת צפונה אל עבר הכפר השכן בירנה, אותם אביא בנפרד). לאחר מכן קבלת תגבורת איראנית יצא חיזבאללה להתקפת נגד ולרגע אחד חייליו אף הצליחו להעפיל בחזרה אל התל אך שם נבלמו ונסוגו שוב מזרחה לכיוון אל-חאדר, תוך שהם שוב משאירים את חלליהם ואף שבוי בידי לוחמי א-נוסרא. הסרטונים השונים מראים את גופותיהם של אנשי חיזבאללה פזורות על פני התל ולאורך מערך הביצורים. חיזבאללה סוגר את אחד החודשים הגרועים ביותר שלו ב 3 השנים האחרונות, עם כ-30 חללים, קודקודים הרוגים ומורל ירוד מן הסתם.

מה קורה שם?

איך המורדים מצליחים לחסל בעקביות מפקדים בכירים כל כך של חיזבאללה, סוריה ואפילו איראן? סתם סטטיסטיקה, תרבות "אחריי" מוגזמת (אני בספק), או שציר חיזבאללה-סוריה-איראן אשכרה חדור מודיעינית ברמה קשה כל כך שהמורדים מצליחים להוציא לפועל חיסולים ממוקדים מוצלחים אחד אחרי השני?

המורדים נהנים מתמיכה אמריקאית.
סביר מאוד להניח שזה מגיע גם בתחום המודיעני (במיוחד בכל הנוגע למטרות איכות).
לאמריקאים יש יכולת מעקב אחר כמעט אחר כל בן אדם בכדוה״א.

לא רק שהשליטה המודיעינית של ארה"ב באזור מאוד מוטלת בספק-וראה את ה"הצלחה" שלהם במלחמה בדאעש, וזה אחרי שנה של מאמצי איסוף-את רוב החיסולים האלה מבצעים דאעש או אל-נוסרה. אם האמריקאים עוזרים לארגונים האלה נגד אירן, תוך כדי שהם מנהלים מגעים עם אירן נגד הארגונים האלה-זה משחק כפול שלא ייאמן.

הם עושים את זה כבר במשך עשורים רבים.

ואח"כ למה אתה מניח שאלה דווקא המורדים? יש שם כ"כ הרבה ידיים בקלחת שאין לדעת.

The first wave of airstrikes were reported to have been staged on Friday night, with Israeli jets firing stand-off guided missiles from Lebanese airspace to hit an alleged Hezbollah position near Ras al-Ain and the sprawling ballistic missile facility near Qutayfah, home to the Syrian Army’s 155th Brigade. Israeli aircraft have in the past launched their missiles from Lebanese airspace to hit targets in Syria close to the border with Lebanon to avoid Syria’s dense air defense network around Damascus. Both of Friday’s targets were well within the range of Israel’s Popeye and Spice air-to-surface missiles, launched from aircraft above central Bekaa Valley. Security sources in South Lebanon said that 16 Israeli aircraft were detected breaching Lebanese airspace on Friday — an unusually large number.

A second wave of attacks reportedly occurred Sunday evening, again hitting the 155th Brigade facility south of Qutayfah which includes more than two dozen underground missile bunkers dug into the side of a valley. Six Hezbollah personnel were killed in Sunday’s airstrike, according to security sources in Lebanon.

Working alongside Russian forces will likely enhance the group's ongoing shift toward a more offensive-minded strategy, with significant implications for the planning and conduct of any future conflicts against Israel.

For the first time in its history, Hezbollah is conducting offensive maneuver warfare as part of its operations in Syria. The Russian intervention is only enhancing that experience, likely giving the group important lessons for future conflicts.

Thus far, Hezbollah has long followed a strategy of defense and attrition in hostilities against its main enemy, Israel -- an approach that many high-ranking officers in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) liked to call "not losing." Taking into account Israel's manpower and technological advantages, this strategy focused on prolonging the fighting as much as possible, maintaining home-front attrition by firing rockets on Israeli population centers, and increasing the costs of IDF ground maneuvers in southern Lebanon. Hezbollah displayed this defensive mindset during the 2006 war when it hid rockets and fighters in elaborate networks of underground fortifications and areas of dense vegetation that Israeli officers dubbed "nature reserves." The group believed that as long as it did not crumble, it could claim that it survived a war with the mighty IDF, which according to its narrative was actually a win. The Syria war has changed this defensive paradigm, however.

Gulf states on Wednesday declared Lebanon's Hezbollah a "terrorist" group, in the latest regional move against the Shiite organization fighting in support of Syria's regime. The six-member Gulf Cooperation Council took the action against Hezbollah members because of "hostile actions of the militia who recruit the young people (of the Gulf) for terrorist acts," GCC Secretary General Abdullatif al-Zayani said in a statement.

Hezbollah declared on Monday the martyrdom of Leader Ali Fayyad, aka Alaa of Bosnia, who was killed while answering the call of duty. Martyr Fayyad had a long Jihadi life, the latest badge of honor was the military campaigns he led against the takfiri groups operating in Syria.

Like other foreign and domestic actors, Hezbollah has seized on the Syrian civil war to improve its position in the country and the surrounding region. Stratfor has collected information from diplomatic sources and from sources close to Hezbollah to monitor and track the establishment of Hezbollah bases in Syria. According to those reports, Hezbollah's attempts to expand and solidify its control in Syria will only increase in the future. Now, satellite imagery adds to these predictions by enabling us to take a closer look at a Hezbollah base near the Syrian town of Qusair, where Hezbollah has built up significant defensive positions since conquering the area in June 2013.

The base near Qusair, like other anticipated defensive positions in Syria, is part of Hezbollah's future strategy in the country. The base will play a significant role in protecting the militant group, and Lebanon as a whole, from the threats it may face if Syrian President Bashar al Assad is deposed. Alongside the base, Hezbollah has focused on securing the Lebanese border, building up a large earthen berm on the stretch of the border near Qusair. The group has also cleared the area around the base to enable it to better observe and defend the area along the Syrian side of the border. Moreover, sources report that Hezbollah has dug tunnels from the base back to Lebanon.

Did Hezbollah leave Syria? No. Furthermore, per a Syrian Arab Army (SAA) source in Damascus, Hezbollah deployed almost all of their forces to the Greater Damascus area; specifically, the East Ghouta and Qalamoun Mountains. Hezbollah has a large presence in the East Ghouta region of rural Damascus, but they are not leading the current offensive, which is something they are not accustomed to in this war. Meanwhile, in the Qalamoun Mountains, Hezbollah seems to be taking a more active role in the battle taking place on the Lebanese-Syrian border. This past week, Hezbollah’s media wing “Al-Manar” reported that their forces carried out several attacks against Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Qaeda group) in the Jaroud ‘Arsal area of east Lebanon. In addition to their presence in Jaroud ‘Arsal, Hezbollah was sighted on the other side of the Qalamoun Mountains, carrying out attacks against Jabhat Al-Nusra and the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) at Jaroud Jarajeer, Jaroud Qarah, and Jaroud Faleeta. Last June, Hezbollah launched an imperative offensive in the Qalamoun Mountains that resulted in the expulsion of the jihadist rebels from Rankous, Faleeta, and several mountaintops. Does this mean Hezbollah is preparing for another offensive in the Qalamoun Mountains? It is unknown at the moment. Hezbollah’s movements in Syria are very difficult to track because they do not correspond with the media and they rarely collaborate with the Syrian Army. Should Hezbollah launch the third phase of their Qalamoun offensive; this could spell trouble for Jabhat Al-Nusra because they are already confined to a small area in Jaroud Qarah.

מזכ"ל הארגון נשא דברים לרגל 40 יום לחיסול המפקד הצבאי של חיזבאללה, מוסטפא בדר א-דין • לדבריו, ארה"ב, סעודיה וטורקיה מתכננות לפתוח במתקפה מכיוון חאלב • "ההגנה על חאלב היא הגנה על דמשק"

מנהיג הארגון הוסיף כי חיזבאללה איבד בחאלב 26 לוחמים מאז תחילת החודש, לוחם אחד נעדר ואחר נלכד בשבי. לדבריו, מתחילת החודש איבד הארגון לא פחות מ-617 לוחמים, כולל עשרות מפקדים בדרג השטח, ויותר מ-800 נפצעו. הוא הוסיף כי 80 כלי רכב מבצעיים של הארגון, ובהם גם טנקים, נהרסו.

נסראללה הודה רק ב-26 ההרוגים בחאלב.

את 617 ההרוגים ומעל 800 פצועים הוא ייחס לארגוני המורדים שבהם חיזבאללה נלחם.

This is the third commander named Mughniyeh killed in Syria. Imad Mughniyeh was killed in 2008 and his son Jihad another commander was killed in 2015. Israel was blamed for killing both.

Earlier today, rebel sources reported that Hezbollah (Lebanese paramilitary) commander Haj Sameer Ali Awada was killed after clashes with rebel groups in northern Aleppo, near the Al-Mallah farms. Now, an Hezbollah representative has also confirmed his death; however, the official version states his death occurred after illness at a hospital in Lebanon. Haj Sameer was a close friend of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah himself, often advising him on political matters. Despite unclear circumstances regarding his death, both sides seem to agree that Haj Sameer Ali Awada is deceased. Hezbollah commander Haj Sameer Ali Awada participated in a number of battles since the Lebanese paramilitary group first entered the Syrian war in Qusayr, 2013. However, his whereabouts have been unbeknownst for a while to the general public.

מכון אלמה שמתעסק בעיקר בחיזבאללה צייצו על המוות של אותו פעיל ראשון והראו סרטון מהלוויה שלו, אבל מה שיותר מעניין לדעתי זה שבציוץ הבא טענו כי הוא למעשה מת כשעסק בשינוע סמים במשאית, אם כי לא ברור בכלל ע"פ מה זה מבוסס.
