מה ההבדל בין שני הכלים? מהבנתי המועטה ידוע לי ששניהם מדגם סער 4.5 עם התורן המוגדל. מדוע בספינה השניה הסיפון מאחורי התורן ריק כמעט לגמרי, לעומת הסיפון העמוס בספינה הראשונה? אמורים להתקין שם משהו בשעת הצורך?

בתמונה הראשונה הסטי"ל הוא בתצורה הוותיקה יותר, עם טילי גבריאל. אחרי שהטילים יצאו משימוש התפנה הרבה מקום על הסיפון (תמונה שנייה).

יחסית למשקל שלהן. ככה היה כתוב בג'יינס במהדורות תחילת שנות ה-80. היו שסברו שכמות חימוש כזו מהווה אפילו בעיית יציבות לכלי בים קשה:
בשנות ה- 70 הישראלים הצליחו לדחוס על ספינה של 450 טון 4-8 טילי הרפון ועוד 6 טילי גבריאל, תותח 76 מ"מ בירכתיים ותותח 40 מ"מ (ואחר כך נוקמני) בחרטום. דגמים דומים של הצרפתים והגרמנים נשאו 6 טילים גג. היום אחרי הורדת המענ"ש הישראלי הסיפון באמת נראה ריק.

לא לשכוח שכל הסטילי"ם הנ"ל הינם פיתוח במקור ממערב גרמניה של שנות ה60 .

בשום פנים ואופן לא מדובר במוצר יחודי ישראלי! המקור לסטילים מדגם סער 1-3 הוא פיתוח של הסט"ר מדגם יגואר המערב גרמני.

בהמשך נקרא כנראה דגם - 45 ( בשל אורכו).

דגמים עוקבים היו ה 58 ( סער 4 ) וה 62 ( סער 4.5 ).

כול הדגמים היו מוצלחים ביותר ונבנו בהמשך ע"י גרמניה וצרפת, עשרות רבות של ספינות ( קרוב ל 100 )

מספנות ישראל קיבלה תוכניות של דגמי ה 58 וה 62, הפיתוח הישראלי היה מוצלח בגין מערכות נשק ישראליות יחודיות.

הסטי"ל בעל כושר נשיאת האמל"ח הגבוה בעולם היה דגם ה 4.5 !

ספינות הסער 4 שנשאו בעבר ציוד נצ"ל (סונר נגרר בירכתיים ושני צמ"טים משולשים Mk-32 מאחורי הגשר היו ספינות נדרן ישנות (העצמאות והנצחון). על פי ויקי במהלך השנים הוסרה מהן חליפת הנצ"ל, אבל אני לא בטוח לגבי זה. הן לא היו מהדגם החדש והמאורך יותר של סער 4.5, המתואר בתמונה.

לא מצאתי שרשור נפרד לסער 6.

קראתי בויקיפדיה שהספינות הנל יהיו מצוידות הן בטילי ברק והן בגרסה הימית של מערכת כיפת ברזל. האם אין כאן כפילות? אמנם ברק 8 מגינה על המטרה עצמה בעוד שכיפת ברזל מגינה על שטח ברדיוס של עשרות קמ ובכול זאת נראה שיש כאן כפילות.

נקודה נוספת שאינה ברורה היא היכולת של הספינות הנל לתקוף מטרות עומק בשטח האויב. הרבה מעבר לטווח התותח החביב אך קצר הטוח שלהן.

WASHINGTON, Apr. 28, 2017 - The State Department has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to Israel for 76mm Naval Gun and Technical Support. The estimated cost is $440 million. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale on April 26, 2017.

The Government of Israel has requested a possible sale of thirteen (13) 76mm naval guns. Also included are shipboard spares to support their operation and preventive maintenance; spares to support repairs; special tools needed for maintenance; holding and transportation fixtures; test equipment; technical manuals, other documentation, and publications; U.S. Government and the contractor engineering, technical, and logistics support services; site surveys of ships and maintenance facilities; installation, checkouts and testing of the systems on the boats; operations and maintenance training; and other related support services. The estimated cost is $440 million.

The United States is committed to the security of Israel, and it is vital to U.S. national interests to assist Israel to develop and maintain a strong and ready self-defense capability. This proposed sale is consistent with those objectives. This proposed sale will contribute to the foreign policy and national security of the United States by helping to improve the security of a strategic regional partner that has been, and continues to be, an important force for political stability and economic progress in the Middle East.

The proposed sale will improve Israel’s capability to meet current and future threats in the defense of its borders and territorial waters. The naval guns will be installed on Israeli Navy SA’AR 4.5 and SA’AR 6 Missile Patrol Boats. One gun will be located at an Israeli Naval Training Center to be used for training maintenance personnel. Israel will have no difficulty absorbing this equipment into its armed forces.

The proposed equipment and support will not alter the basic military balance in the region. The potential principal contractor will be DRS North America (a Leonardo company). There are no known offset agreements proposed in connection with this potential sale. Implementation of this proposed sale will not require the assignment of any additional U.S. Government or contractor representatives to Israel.

There is no adverse impact on U.S. defense readiness as a result of this proposed sale.
