After reading the latest comments made by everyone in response to Amichai 13's new posts, I have given this issue some more thought. By chance I was sent to a course at Elyakim earlier this week. I took the opportunity to take another look inside the tank.
Note that the interior of the tank hull looks badly damaged, with twisted and broken off metal parts, no paint and rusted, lots of scars from fragments. Meanwhile the interior of the turret looks relatively untouched and the painted markings are still easily readable
I took these new photos to illustrate the contrast between the hull and turret conditions
It seems to me that this is indeed the tank hull from the incident of Feb 22 1988, the damage and time frame matches quite closely with the description of the incident that were featured in this thread. I am not aware of any other Magachs destroyed by mines during this period in Lebanon
However, I am convinced that the turret is a replacement, either because the original Magach 6mem turret (that was relatively advanced) was taken for reuse, or conversely, too badly damaged to reattach.
I am also surethat the current turret is that of an M48A3 or A5 tank and NOT that of the round first model M60 "slick/A0 - note the rounded rear of the Elyakim tank turret compared to that of the squared rear of the M60 slick turret that is clear from the various photos I included before
