תאונת מטוס Cessna 172S Skyhawk ישראלי במקדוניה

An Israeli Cessna 172S Skyhawk SP (registered 4X-CWI, c/n 172S8786) owned by F.N. Aviation of Herzliya crashed in the Republic of Macedonia on 21 September 2013. The aircraft that crashed was part of a group of six planes that have been on a flying tour that bring them to the Balkans. The group entered Macedonian airspace from neighboring Greece and landed at Skopje "Alexander the Great" International Airport (LWSK) for passengers to clear passport and customs control. Once this was done the group proceeded to Stenkovec airport (LW75), located near Skopje. The first two aircraft performed safe landings at Stenkovec and it was the third aircraft that crashed. The aircraft crashed at 15:59 hours local time at Stenkovec airfield when 73 years old Israeli pilot in the final phase of landing obviously exceed the critical angle of attack as a result of what the plane stalled resulting in a very sharp left turn that bring left wing in contact with the ground following what the aircraft nose hardly hit the ground causing complete destruction of the plane. Luckily, all three persons aboard the aircraft, two Israelis and one German citizen, escaped with only slight injuries. As a precaution they have been transferred to nearby "Sistina" clinical hospital that released them same day after necessary examinations have been completed. The reason of this crash is investigated by the Macedonia authorities though it is strongly believed that this crash is a result of a pilot error.
