According to the French Defense Ministry, the frigate Nivose, on patrol in the Indian Ocean as part of an EU-USA combined anti-piracy force, intercepted a 'mother ship' and detained 11 pirates, said. The warship captured the pirates east of the Kenyan coast after tracking them overnight from the scene of a failed attack on a Liberian-registered vessel.
