Guided missile sniper
DARPA began the next phase of work on guided missiles for weapons vodka Exacto. It does Teledyne Scientific and Imaging.

Teledyne Scientific and Imaging (per 9.5 million USD) in cooperation with Lockheed Martin (with 12.3 million U.S. dollars) has already completed the first stage, lasting from November 2008, involving, among others the numerical analysis of the proposed solutions - Nazis (hardware-in-the-loop). It has been proven that it is possible to create a missile with the required properties by DARPA. Details regarding the techniques used were not disclosed. Earlier there were reports that the class system will eventually fire up and forget it.
In the second stage is expected to create several versions of the new missile. The missile is to be allowed to correct the flight path to a limited extent. Its speed is to be greater than the standard 12.7 mm caliber projectile. Along with the missile to be developed a new sighting system. Coverage of the whole system is expected to be 2500 m.
The program envisages to minimize changes in the way of use of weapons of vodka. Sniper teams will continue to double. Equipped with weapons of mass system is to remain at current levels. The concept used in the Exacto is to be applied also in case of larger caliber bullets.
In addition Teledyne Technologies Exacto to take part include Thousand Oaks (25.2%), and the Universities of Plymouth (23.8%), Merrimack (15.7%) and Cambridge (13.6%). The system is suitable for operational use, to be ready by 2015.
